Policy Statement
Solmatix is committed to conducting business ethically and with integrity and has zero tolerance for modern slavery, forced labour, human trafficking, servitude and child labour in any part of its operations or supply chain.
We are committed to protecting human rights and complying with the Modern Slavery Act 2015, ensuring that all workers are treated fairly, with dignity and respect. We expect the same high standards from our employees, subcontractors, suppliers, manufacturers, labour providers and all other business partners.
Scope
This policy applies to all Solmatix employees, directors, agency workers, subcontractors, consultants, suppliers and any organisation acting on our behalf.
Risk Assessment
Solmatix undertakes periodic risk assessments to identify areas of increased modern slavery risk across our operations and supply chain. Particular consideration is given to:
- Construction and renewable energy
- Temporary and agency
- Scaffolding and specialist
- Solar PV modules, battery storage systems, inverters and electrical equipment sourced through global supply chains.
- Logistics and transportation
- Suppliers operating within higher-risk sectors or geographic
Where higher-risk suppliers or activities are identified, enhanced due diligence measures are applied.
Supplier Due Diligence
To reduce the risk of modern slavery, Solmatix:
- Undertakes supplier due diligence during onboarding and contract
- Requires suppliers to comply with the Modern Slavery Act 2015 and applicable labour
- Includes modern slavery requirements within supplier contracts where
- Reviews supplier policies, declarations and supporting compliance
- Monitors supplier performance throughout contract
- Works with suppliers to implement corrective actions where concerns are
Employment Practices
Solmatix is committed to responsible employment practices and will:
- Verify all employees’ right to
- Prohibit worker-paid recruitment
- Prohibit child labour, forced labour and compulsory
- Respect freedom of association and workers’
- Ensure workers retain control of their own identification
- Operate fair recruitment, employment and payment
Training and Awareness
Relevant employees receive training appropriate to their role to help them:
- Recognise indicators of modern
- Understand reporting
- Apply modern slavery considerations during procurement and supplier
- Support ethical sourcing and responsible
Reporting Concerns
Employees, subcontractors and business partners are encouraged to report any concerns relating to modern slavery through management or the Company’s Whistleblowing Policy.
Reports will be investigated promptly and confidentially. Individuals raising concerns in good faith will not suffer retaliation.
Continuous Improvement
Solmatix is committed to continually improving its approach through:
- Annual review of this
- Annual review of our Modern Slavery
- Regular supply chain risk
- Ongoing supplier engagement and
- Periodic review of procurement
- Monitoring performance through measurable key performance indicators, including supplier due diligence, staff training completion and risk assessment activities.
Responsibility
Overall responsibility for this policy rests with the Managing Director, supported by senior management, who will review the effectiveness of the Company’s modern slavery arrangements on at least an annual basis.
This policy will be reviewed annually or sooner if legislation, business operations or identified risks require amendment.
